In the changing world order, emerging countries have gone through a lot of challenges, with a direct impact on the economies, especially on a significant number of small and large-scale businesses. COVID-19 pandemic introduced a huge disruption in the supply chain, which largely contributed to consumer panic buying, inflation, profiteering activities, disruptions leading to economy drop, insufficient income and resultant hunger. Advantages of technological innovations have never been more relevant to attain efficiency, employ more local companies, and develop a more accurate business model, which can help industry stakeholders determine blockers in their business processes. In this paper, the impact of technological innovations on the global sustainable development goal 2, hunger eradication has been specifically analysed. Key common challenges regarding supply chain and lack of strong policies are delved into in order to assess the struggles in capitalizing the industrialization and technology, the relationship between the producers and the market that can be improved, as well as the process of modernizing the distribution cycle. When stakeholder relationships, industrialization, and supply chain management are evolved, this can be considered as the starting points that can contribute significantly towards achieving zero hunger societies across the world.

The rapid adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) across industries has revolutionized daily life by providing essential services and leisure activities. However, the inadequate software protection in IoT devices exposes them to cyberattacks with severe consequences. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are vital in mitigating these risks by detecting abnormal network behavior and monitoring safe network traffic. The security research community has shown particular interest in leveraging Machine Learning (ML) approaches to develop practical IDS applications for general cyber networks and IoT environments. However, most available datasets related to Industrial IoT suffer from imbalanced class distributions. This study proposes a methodology that involves dataset preprocessing, including data cleaning, encoding, and normalization. The class imbalance is addressed by employing the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) and performing feature reduction using correlation analysis. Multiple ML classifiers, including Logistic Regression, multi-layer perceptron, Decision Trees, Random Forest, and XGBoost, are employed to model IoT attacks. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method evaluate using the IoTID20 dataset, which represents current imbalanced IoT scenarios. The results highlight that the XGBoost model, integrated with SMOTE, achieves outstanding attack detection accuracy of 0.99 in binary classification, 0.99 in multi-class classification, and 0.81 in multiple sub-classifications. These findings demonstrate our approach's significant improvements to attack detection in imbalanced IoT datasets, establishing its superiority over existing IDS frameworks.

A critical step in processing leather raw material is the storing that keeps them in good condition and not easily damaged through the right temperature and humidity level, as otherwise the quality of leather raw material would not be consistent and its economic value would be low. This particular study, therefore, is to conduct an experiment that uses the Internet of Things (IoT) which allows proactive monitoring in keeping a specific temperature and humidity level in their storing process. Hence the subsequent leather processing can be done at the optimal level. The experimentation showed positive results as the use of IoT made storing process of leather raw materials became more proactive and run three times more effective, from just 8 hours to 24 hours, and also brought about a positive effect on the economic efficiency and effectiveness as it enable users to produce more consistent quality of leather raw material whilst the total operating costs remained and even lower. Besides its economic impact, IoT has increased the workers' and their relatives' welfare and social life driven by better income and less time consuming. It also brings about some positive environmental effects as it reduced carbon emissions by keeping energy waste at a lower level.
