Security and Privacy in IoT-Cloud-Based e-Health Systems—A Comprehensive Review

When the Internet and other interconnected networks are used in a health system, it is referred to as “e-Health.” In this paper, we examined research studies from 2017–2020 to explore the utilization of intelligent techniques in health and its evolution over time, particularly the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and cloud computing. E-Health is defined as “the ability to seek, find, understand and appraise health information derived from electronic sources and acquired knowledge to properly solve or treat health problems. As a repository for health information as well as e-Health analysis, the Internet has the potential to protect consumers from harm and empower them to participate fully in informed health-related decision-making. Most importantly, high levels of e-Health integration mitigate the risk of encountering unreliable information on the Internet. Various research perspectives related to security and privacy within IoT-cloud-based e-Health systems are examined, with an emphasis on the opportunities, benefits and challenges of the implementation such systems. The combination of IoT-based e-Health systems integrated with intelligent systems such as cloud computing that provide smart objectives and applications is a promising future trend.

One of the key goals of future 5G networks is to incorporate many different services into a single physical network, where each service has its logical network isolated from other networks. Besides, Network Slicing (NS) is considered as the key technology for meeting the service requirements of diverse application domains. Recently, NS faces several algorithmic challenges for 5G networks. This paper provides a review related to NS architecture with a focus on relevant Management and Orchestration (MANO) architecture across multiple domains. In addition, this survey paper delivers a deep analysis and a taxonomy of NS algorithmic aspects. Finally, this paper highlights some of the open issues and future directions.

Storage and processing of information is the major application of big data analytics. Internet of Everything (IoE) is the smart connection between people, data, things and processes. This paper studies the available frameworks used for developing secure Internet of Everything with big data analytics. Big data is a collection of data generated from the sensors embedded in the surrounding physical objects. This information can be used for analysis of the surroundings and development based on the inference. Internet of Everything uses this data for automation of the electronic equipment in the surrounding environment. However, with the increasing level of automation, the vulnerability to attack also increases. This paper presents a detailed analysis of big data analytics that is used for developing a secure internet of everything.
