The covid-19 pandemic has significantly altered the organization and scheduling of high schools in Spain. Due to pandemic restrictions, most students from grades 9 to 11 come to class only on alternate days. In this situation, e-learning and distance learning have gained prominence as necessary methods of instruction. In this study 68 students from grades 9 and 10, attending on alternate days, participated in an online teaching experience for the first time in their lives. This took place during the first trimester of the 2020-2021 academic school year. On days when they did not attend class in person, students were expected to watch the mathematics classes which were broadcasted live via YouTube. Students could either watch the classes live and ask the teacher questions via an online chat, or alternatively, they could watch the pre-recorded classes at a later time. The two options were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. Results showed a continuous decrease in the number of students who preferred the first option, switching progressively from online live classes to pre-recorded classes as the weeks passed. The qualitative results explained this progressive decrease as students preferred to watch the teacher's explanations several times. Although e-learning is absolutely necessary in the 21st century, and especially during the current pandemic, controlling students' level of application to distance work and online learning is still a challenge.

The article examines the experience of the practical application of video, audio, text and Internet components of media education in the process of formation and development of linguistic and cultural patterns by foreign students at universities and colleges in the US. It focuses on the contribution of linguistic and cultural patterns to more effective acculturation of a foreign student and, subsequently, their ability to have quality interpersonal interactions academically and socially. The analysis of the theoretical framework of the media education components and programs using certain media components is based on research methods such as analysis and synthesis (which allowed separating and combining practical programs and identify existing connections within a program that ensured the integrity of the adaptation training of foreign students), deduction (which, in fact, allowed singling out the video, audio, text and Internet components of media educations in the educational, cultural, linguistic and psychological elements of the acculturation triad), induction (in order to classify the practical programs of the US HEIs by media education components), classification (which provided the interpretation of the Internet direction of adaptation training as a separate component of media education), analogy (demonstrating the existence of close connections and similar characteristics between the media education components, which make them complementary). In the course of examination of the influence of media education on adaptation programs in the US HEIs, we identified the use of four components: video, audio, text and Internet, which are used both for the "direct" (adaptation of foreign students) and "reverse" (adaptation of representatives of the host country) acculturation. The article emphases that media education components can be used simultaneously (leading to the minimisation of their separate use). Since it is important for foreign students to learn about historical and cultural events that had a direct impact on the society of the host country, as well as to form and develop linguistic and cultural patterns, we created a list of films that have had a historical, social and cultural impact on the society of the United States.

The paper observes some myth-triggered communicative distortions caused by mass-media distribution of common stereotypes of the Other. Another focal point of the article is the variety of possible mechanisms for overcoming the myths which emerged in the Ukrainian context of the hybrid war. The transformation from reality to counter-reality has been considered in terms of norm-oriented actions of an individual (with the focus of sameness and wholeness of self-concept connected to reality). The latter is opposed to the projected and split identity of the "dividuum" or Subiectum Neglegens textually involved in creating practical concepts and ignoring or eliminating counter-real mythologemes of Russian World and Split while being engaged in civic and political discourses. Thus, constructive and destructive ignoring has been evaluated according to the effect on the communicative actors: ignoring differences is compared with ignoring on the basis of differences in the social reality-forming legal texts. The normative changes resulted from the introduction of the practical concepts into the legislative field are observed from the perspective of the problem of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine. This group of Ukrainians has been overcoming physical, legal and mental transposition from We-group to Other-or even Alien-group, and in some cases-to We-group again, as a result of an internal conflict of myth-based processes during the crisis identity shift.
