Abstract:Primary human hepatocyte (PHH) cultures have become indispensable to mitigate the risk of adverse drug reactions in human patients. In contrast to de-differentiating monocultures, co-culture with non-parenchymal cells maintains PHH functions for 2-4 weeks.
