This study aimed to develop a comprehensive scale for assessing higher- order thinking skills in interior design major students within the context of blended learning. Employing a mixed methods design, the research involved in-depth interviews with 10 education stakeholders to gather qualitative data, which informed the development of a 66-item soft skills assessment scale. The scale was administered to a purposive sample of 359 undergraduate students enrolled in an interior design program at a university in Henan, China. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were also conducted to evaluate the underlying factor structure of the scale. The findings revealed a robust four-factor model encompassing critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, teamwork skills, and practical innovation skills. The scale demonstrated high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.948–0.966) and satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity. This scale provides a valuable instrument for assessing and cultivating higher- order thinking skills among interior design major students in blended learning environments. Future research can utilize the scale to examine factors influencing the development of these skills and inform instructional practices in the field.

The international community views Indonesia as rich in natural tourism, like a tourist village. One of the tourism potentials that can be developed as part of a tourist village is Pabelan Sabodam, located in Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. The Pabelan River in Sabodam has the potential to serve the community as a tourist destination in addition to being a water system infrastructure for agricultural land. However, the current problem is that there is no supporting road access to this weir. Therefore, this research will model the design of the access road to the Pabelan Sabodam to support the acceleration of the tourism development of the Pabelan Sabodam. The modeling process begins with collecting data from Google Earth and processing it through the Global Mapper application. Road modeling is carried out using the Civil 3D application, and then the visualization process approaches the actual conditions using the SketchUp application. The modeling results show horizontal and vertical alignment, road, and cross sections. In addition, the estimated volume of excavation and embankment required from the Civil 3D application is also obtained.

Technology advancement, industrialisation, and globalisation have been significant reasons for air pollution outdoors and indoors. It may surprise us that we spend about 80% of our time indoors breathing toxic, stale, polluted air, making us sluggish and fretful. In contrast to outdoor air, indoor air does not recycle consistently. It traps and builds pollutants from wood and coal stoves, furniture and building materials, paints and solvents, cigarette smoke, and cleaning supplies. The prolonged exposure to these hidden pollutants can prompt respiratory disorders such as lung disease, pneumonitis, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is enduring and is not curable, which has been a threat to humanity for ages. COPD’s major cause is airborne particulate matter and other toxic compounds emitted from indoor and outdoor sources. Outdoor air pollution can be controlled only by acquiring changes in the vast population, wherein for indoor, every individual may create a major impact on improving air purity, thereby promoting health. The proposed design model for monitoring indoor air quality was tested in a normal and stimulating environment where we live. Parameters tested included temperature, humidity, amount of PM2.5, and the concentration of CO, CO 2 , and NH 3 . These parameters were monitored for five to 6 h per day for 8 days. Results indicate that the total air quality lies in the moderate range. Further study will be helpful to utilise this module as an effective Indoor air quality (IAQ) monitoring system. Highlights • A simple, effective, inexpensive integrated gas sensor module (IGSM) has been proposed in this study to monitor the indoor air quality index (IAQI). • Indoor air quality was tested in a normal and stimulating environment for 8 days. • The integrated gas sensor module (IGSM) was composed of sensors in series, and the outputs for the respective parameter were measured easily. • Among the parameters tested, CO and PM2.5 lie in the moderate range, while other pollutants within the normal range reveal that the tested air quality is moderate.
