“…As a novel kind of phosphorus-containing flame retardants, DOPO have been paid consider attention because of its high reactivity and flame retardancy. DOPO and its derivatives have been used a efficient flame retardants for epoxy resin was reported in many publication (Qian et al, 2011a,b;Wang et al, 2011;Perret et al, 2011;Jiang et al, 2015), but there is few reports to use them as plasticizer due to low plasticizing effect on PVC. The situation will be improved while PSOPE was developed.…”

“…The combination of tailored polymers with inorganic nanoparticles, e.g. nanoclays14151617181920212223 or carbon nanotubes24252627, glass fabric28, polyhedral silsesquioxanes (POSS)2930, layered double hydroxides31323334, providing oxygen barrier properties and mechanical strength, preventing dripping of hot, molten plastics, and enabling an intumescent, self-expanding foam-like heat barrier behavior is a most promising approach for fire-retardant coating materials35. Aiming at a quantitative understanding in such materials requires approaches towards structurally well-defined surface coatings, in which benefits in the fire behavior can explicitly be linked to defined composition and architecture.…”

“…Due to desirable properties including low shrinkage during cure process, excellent mechanical strength, superior insulation and dielectric properties, as well as satisfactory resistance to moisture and organic solvents, epoxy resin (EP) is widely applied in adhesion agents, coatings and laminated composites . Similar to most polymers, high flammability is the main defect of this resin, which restricts its applications in some important fields, e.g. electronic industries.…”
