Interference Control Based on Beamforming Coordination for Heterogeneous Network With RRH Deployment

Abstract: In this paper, we focus on heterogeneous networks (HetNet) where low-power remote radio head (RRH) nodes are deployed within the coverage area of an existing macro network, aiming at offloading traffic from the macro cell to small cells. To improve the data rate both for users served by macro base stations (BSs) and those by RRH nodes, this paper proposes a joint selection interference control (JSIC) based scheme, where each user equipment (UE) in the cell feeds its channel state information back to the corres… Show more

“…A family of cross-tier interference mitigation approaches has been developed in [5] based on MIMO precoding, in which, the QoS requirements of macrocell/femtocell users are considered, but with the absence of multiuser scheduling. All results presented in [8] are obtained from Monte-Carlo simulations, while in this work, we perform exact statistical analysis to acquire analytical results for the ergodic rate achieved by both FAP and MBS. We can then investigate the relationship between system performance and various parameters based on such results.…”

“…Numerous studies have shown that Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) networks and Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) are promising solutions to these challenges and above all they improve the Spectral Efficiency (SE) as well as the Energy Efficiency (EE) of the systems [1,4]. The principle of the HetNets consists in integrating Low Power Nodes (LPNs) or small cells of micro, pico or femto types inside macrocells served by Macro-Base Stations (MBS) or High Power Node (HPN) [2,3,11]. This increases the capacity and coverage of the network because the frequency reuse distance is reduced.…”

“…Meanwhile, heterogeneous network (HetNet), on which a few picocells are embedded over the macrocell, has attracted much attention because of its simplicity [7] [8]. Macro-BS and remote radio heads (RRHs) cooperate as a cluster to effectively utilize frequency resource while inter-picocell interference is negligible because they are sufficiently isolated at the distance.…”
