Interfacial Activity and Oil Displacement Efficiency of an Alkyl Glucoside and Petroleum Sulfonate System

Abstract: A novel binary compound flooding system was developed using the combination of nonionic surfactant alkyl glucoside and anionic surfactant petroleum sulfonate with the mass ratio of 1:1. The interfacial activity was studied by experiments. The results showed that the interfacial tension between a binary compound flooding system and crude oil was reduced to an ultra-low value at 45-80°C, and the compounded system showed good tolerance to salt and divalent cations.
