Abstract:International audienceIn ladle metallurgical processing, two liquid layers, a metallic phase below a salty or oxide phase, are separated by an interface where mass exchanges occur via redox reactions. The associated mass transfer is strongly dependent on the agitation of each phase, as well as of the interface. By means of induction, a cold-crucible reactor can melt, confine and stir liquids at very-high temperature without physical contact, with opportunities for continuous treatment. Equipment is built to co… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
