Interdisciplinary Framework: A Building Information Modeling Using Structural Equation Analysis in Lean Construction Project Management

Abstract: The construction process and construction management are highly reliant on the interaction between the triple constraints of project management of quality: scope, time, and cost. The industry has incorporated certain principles and technology, such as lean-based construction principles and Building Information Modeling (BIM), to maximize the time, quality, and cost-efficiency of various construction projects. Analysis and assessment of the factors and functionalities are needed to show their synergic relations… Show more

“…Despite price increases, XYZ Construction Corporation retains clients via openness and communication. In the findings of Silva et al, the triple constraints significantly impact the project, supporting the claims on streamlined networks of communication, the dynamics, and flexibility of triple constraints in a quality project delivery [18]. XYZ Construction Corporation was hurt by the supplier's price increase.…”

“…Without supplies and equipment, workers are unable to function, and a human resource deficit results in delays and increased costs. The triple constraints such as time, budget, and scope are related with their distinct and combined functionality and elements in such a way that they impact one another, particularly in construction projects according to Silva et al [18].…”

“…Whilst, for safety and risks management, the Lean-BIM approach allows errors identification in design drawing involving structural element at early stage, subsequently expects the higher probabilities of identifying potential conflicts. Therefore, the implementation of both Lean Construction and BIM will crucially influence the construction project performance, starting from the project inception to the project completion as the number of critical issues that arise throughout the project is significantly reduced [42]. Consequently, cost reduction, efficient workflow and quality improvement are three main benefits of integrating these two methodologies [38].…”
