In their paper, Jackman et at. [1987] calculate NO: and French intercomparisons have shown that the instruments HNO3 by means of a photochemical model, using N:O, CH4, chosen were those that measured high NO:. Russell et at. and temperature data from SAMS, H:O data from LIMS, [1984] wrote their paper before these later intercomparisons and 03 data from SBUV (SAMS, LIMS, and SBUV were were analyzed, and it used the best information available at instruments on NASA's Nimbus 7 satellite). They compare the time, but the quoted errors for NO: must now be the calculated amounts with the NO: and HNO3 measured regarded as optimistic in the lower stratosphere.
