However, since it takes some times to build monitoring and analysis systems for radionuclides, there were only two reports about radionuclide depositions in forested areas during the main emission period just after the Chernobyl (Bunzl et al, 1989) and FD1NPP (Kato et al, 2012) accidents. In these previous reports, it was emphasized that atmospheric deposition of radionuclides was intercepted and retained temporally by forest canopies, and then transferred to the forest floor gradually.…”
