“…We observe the so‐called effect of giant phonon softening . The possible reason for this phenomena is the behavior of local defective phonon modes induced by the Er 3+ introduction into the Gd 2 O 3 lattice . The significant decrease in phonon energy opens up the new possibilities for minimizing thermal losses and, as a result, increases the overall efficiency of energy conversion.…”
