Abstract This research aims to find out how effective the impact of Instagram is in improving students' vocabulary understanding. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Instagram social media in increasing the vocabulary mastery of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 Kubutambahan. This type of research is a quasi-experiment involving 64 students selected through an intact group sampling technique. Data collection used quantitative methods with a post-test-only control group design. By using the pre-test as a test of the requirements that the students' abilities between the two classes are the same. And for the post-test is used as a hypothesis test. The results showed that there were significant differences between students' vocabulary mastery before and after the intervention. results of independent t-test analysis on experimental and control group post-test scores obtained t (df = 62) = 0.3.148, p > 0.003. This means that the research hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the use of social media Instagram for learning can improve the vocabulary mastery of class VIII students of SMPN 4 Kubutambahan.

The relevance of the study is due to the need for new educational programmes that will diversify the educational process and increase the effectiveness of language knowledge in live communication. The purpose of the study is to examine the main aspects of using interactive teaching methods in English lessons, considering the development of students' communication skills. The following methods were used in the study: analytical, synthetic, comparative and comparative, which allowed delving into the theoretical aspects of using interactive teaching methods; observation and generalisation of experience, which became the main ones for this study, since their use considered the main positive phenomena in the field of interactive learning in recent years; the analysis was also used to assess the development of communication skills in the process of learning a language. The analysis of the main methods (project creation, interactive, and role-playing games, discussions) and forms of work that can be used in English lessons to develop communication skills is conducted. An assessment of its effectiveness in the application of communication skills has been added to the characteristics of each of the methods. Conclusions on the effectiveness of interactive methods are drawn, considering the age and level of knowledge of students. The basics of implementing interactive learning in an English lesson, in particular, communication between participants in the educational process (student -teacher -student), are considered. The expediency of using various online applications in mastering a foreign language in the classroom and outside of school hours is justified. The results of the study are compared with the results of other studies on this subject related to communication processes in English lessons and interactive learning. The study can be used to further investigate the impact of interactive methods on different student classrooms, for example, during experiments (conducting surveys and questionnaires), considering key educational issues related to the development and implementation of new curricula

Digital natives born with advanced digital media technologies are acknowledged as the first generation of the 21st century. This quantitative study seeks to explore digital natives’ stimuli and perceptions towards technology-oriented academician-student interactions at a major university in North Cyprus amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants (N=259 Gen Z learners) in a developing country seem to value the virtualization of academician-student interactions in higher education because digital technologies eliminate the existing and possible communication obstacles between educators and learners especially during the crisis situations. It was underlined that digital natives mostly prefer mobile communication in their lives with the belief that technology facilitates, enhances, enriches and triggers interactions between educators and learners. Hence, digital learners mostly prefer blended education and digital communication because participants claim that digitalization escalates the effectiveness of teaching and communication. Digital-assisted education ascends learners’ self-confidence and desire towards initiating interactions and comprehending the course contents.
