Route selection is a critical component in establishing a sustainable infrastructure. The goal of this study is to evaluate and rank alternative access routes based on relevance, and subsequently identify the most efficient route. This process involves an exhaustive literature review and consultations with transportation planning experts to determine the criteria for selection. The Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (F-AHP) was utilized to determine the weights of these criteria, and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was implemented in the decision-making process to identify the optimal route. This research focuses on a specific route selection problem between Kunyit Beach and Puri Gading Beach. The findings of the study reveal that area development is the primary criterion for road route selection. The integration of F-AHP and TOPSIS proved to be an effective method for route selection, providing a systematic and quantifiable decision-making tool. These results suggest potential wider applications of the combined F-AHP and TOPSIS methodology in infrastructure planning and sustainable development. Future research should focus on the utilization of this combined method in various contexts and its potential implications in other aspects of transportation engineering. This research contributes to the literature by highlighting the potential benefits of integrating multiple decision-making techniques in route selection, aiming to promote sustainability and efficiency in infrastructure planning.
