“…At pH values above 10, the BB-41 reacted with the hydroxyl groups of the NaOH solution and formed a brown precipitate at the bottom of the beaker, thus the removal of BB-41 dye with this material was not carried out (Kooli et al, 2015). The formation of the precipitate was the result of the BB-41 decomposition in strong alkaline environments (Roulia and Vassiliadis, 2005). It was important to note that the absorption characteristics of the BB-41 were insensitive to changes in pH with λ max of 610 nm.…”

“…The application of the acid activated clays in the removal properties of basic blue-41 (BB-41) was examined from aqueous solutions. BB-41 is a basic dye, once is dissolved in water, it carries a net positive charge due to the presence of protonated amine or sulfur containing groups (Roulia and Vassiliadis, 2005). The Langmuir model was used to estimate the maximum removal capacity of the different clay minerals, the removed amounts were associated to the properties of the treated clay minerals.…”

“…Les argiles sont écologiques, pas toxiques, et peu coûteuses. L'importance chimique des minéraux argileux est due à leur structure cristalline, à leur surface élevée, à leur capacité d'échange ionique et à de bonnes propriétés de gonflement dans certains cas [7,8]. Les minéraux argileux sont importants en raison de leur grande échelle d'application dans l'industrie de fabrication de l'acide phosphorique et de la possibilité de modifier leur structure en couches par intercalation [9].…”

“…Basic Blue 41(CB41) is a mono-azo-basic dye of bright blue hue; it is particularly suitable for dyeing acrylic substrates and can also be applied to some polyamide and polyester types, viscose, cotton, and wool. It is also effective as strainer for the identification of avian leukocytes and blood and bone-marrow cells [3]. This basic dye may be considered one of the most toxic substances [4].…”
