Interaction between edge dislocations and a circular hole with surface stress

Abstract: The problem of the interaction between several parallel edge dislocations and a circular nanosized hole with surface stress is investigated. The explicit solutions of stress fields and image forces exerted on edge dislocations are obtained by the use of the complex variable method. The influence of surface properties and the size of the hole on the glide/climb force is discussed.
