“…The sulfur series of quasi-one-dimensional (1D) organic compounds (TMTTF) 2 X with the centro-symmetrical anions X = PF 6 , AsF 6 , SbF 6 ... are Mott insulators which develop a charge ordered (CO) state [1][2][3] that is followed at lower temperature by either an antiferromagnetic (AF) Néel or a lattice distorted spin-Peierls (SP) phase depending on the pressure applied, anion X substitution, and to some degree the deuteration of the methyl groups. “…Especially in quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) systems, various types of phase transitions have been found experimentally, triggering numerous theoretical works [3]. Among the typical examples are families of TM 2 X [4,5] and DCNQI 2 X [6], whose electronic structures are Q1D because of the stacking nature of the planar TM/DCNQI molecules and anisotropic shape of molecular orbital (MO). TM representing TMTSF (tetramethyltetraselenafulvalene) or TMTTF (tetramethyltetrathiafulvalene) molecules form crystals with different monovalent anions X − , then a three quarter-filled HOMO band of TM molecule is realized, i.e., quarter-filled in terms of holes; on the other hand in the DCNQI (N, N ′ -dicyanoquinonediimine) salts, when their counterparts are monovalent cations X + such as Ag and Li, a quarter-filled LUMO band of DCNQI is realized.…”
