Abstract:The ability of aerobic microorganisms to regulate internal and external concentrations of the reactive oxygen species (ROS) superoxide directly influences the health and viability of cells. Superoxide dismutases (SODs) are the primary regulatory enzymes that are used by microorganisms to degrade superoxide.
