Intensification of Press Felt Dewatering for Tissue Machines

Abstract: This article describes a method of dewatering press felts using a blow-through device. The essence of this method is pressing out free water contained in the felt with unheated air at a slight overpressure. The usefulness of this method for various types of felt used in tissue machines was tested. The results showed that the effectiveness of this process depends mainly on the proper selection of the pressure difference on both sides of the dewatering felt and of the blow-through time (dwell time). The increase… Show more

“…In recent years, a lot of research has been carried out on paper machine clothing, mainly focusing on the development of a new type of net carpet design, felt chemical cleaning and net carpet dewatering laboratory model, to prevent dehairing, and to improve the performance of the net carpet itself, etc. [9] [10] [11] [12]. The research on the monitoring of the overall operating condition of the felt in the actual working environment is very limited, which in turn greatly restricts the development of modern large-scale high-speed paper machines.…”

“…At present, most of the pressure mechanisms adopt a multilink mechanism, mainly to reduce the speed of the working stroke of the slider and, at the same time, speed up the return speed so as to improve the processing survival rate [10]. The level of pressure mechanism design determines its product quality and productivity [11]. Therefore, adopting a more rational method to design a multilink press mechanism becomes very important to promote the development of presses [12].…”
