Intense Green-Emission and Energy Transfer in Phosphor LiGd(PO3)4: Ce3+, Tb3+

Abstract: Ce3+ and Tb3+ doped LiGd(PO3)4 (LGP-CT) were synthesized with solid state reactions. The luminescence properties of Gd3+, Ce3+ and Tb3+ in LGP and energy transfer (ET) among these ions were investigated in detail. ET in Gd3+-Ce3+ and Gd3+-Tb3+ pairs is bidirectional. The luminescence lifetimes of Ce3+ and ET efficiency prove that unidirectional ET from Ce3+ to Tb3+ is very efficient.
