At present time, the people who use vehicles on the campus is increasing. It makes more difficult to find an empty slot parking area on the campus. This study aims to develop a system parking reservation and monitoring on-campus area using NFC and IoT concept. NFC was used to confirm booking code that generated by the system. In the parking area, ultrasonic sensors were installed to detect parking space availability. IoT concept has been applied to build this system. Apps on users smartphone can do the reservation process to the desired parking location via internet. Black box testing was done by building a prototype using the number of data locations parking slots in the Andalas University. The test results showed that this system has been able to detect the location of vacant parking slots and do reservations with time tosend data to the server for 0.7952 sec.

Parking information systems have become very important, especially in metropolitan areas as they help to save time, effort and fuel when searching for parking. This paper offers a novel low-cost deep learning approach to easily implement vacancy detection at outdoor parking spaces with CCTV surveillance. The proposed method also addresses issues due to perspective distortion in CCTV images. The architecture consists of three classifiers for checking the availability of parking spaces. They were developed on the TensorFlow platform by retraining MobileNet (a pre-trained Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)) model using the transfer learning technique. A performance analysis showed 88% accuracy for vacancy detection. An end-to-end application model with Internet of Things (IoT) and an Android application is also presented. Users can interact with the cloud using their Android application to get real-time updates on parking space availability and the parking location. In the future, an autonomous car could use this system as a V2I (Vehicle to Infrastructure) application in deciding the nearest parking space.

Abstract-This era has witnessed a rapid augmentation in the vehicle ownership with the advancement of highway and mechanization. The densely populated areas in various towns and cities are undergoing some major problems due to lack of parking spaces resulting in lack of convenient services for the vehicle users during their driving trips. Therefore the significant problems confronted are rise in traffic congestion, difficulty in searching parking spaces, longer travel lines which is highly degrading the quality of life and also lowering the levels of accessibility. Considering all these aspects, the urgent need of promoting intelligent parking management system has arisen. In this paper, various existing Parking Management System (PMS) are reviewed and compared and an intelligent PMS based on Video Analytics is proposed.
