Intelligent Fault-Diagnosis System for Acoustic Logging Tool Based on Multi-Technology Fusion

Abstract: To improve the performance of acoustic logging tool in detecting three-dimensional formation, larger and more complicated transducer arrays have been used, which will greatly increase the difficulty of fault diagnosis during tool assembly and maintenance. As a result, traditional passive diagnostic methods become inefficient, and very skilled assemblers and maintainers are required. In this study, fault-diagnosis requirement for the acoustic logging tool at different levels has been analyzed from the perspecti… Show more

“…Consequently, the evaluation of fractures in these reservoirs has become critical. The research on fracture evaluation is mainly carried out from two aspects: physical experiments [5][6][7][8][9][10][11] and numerical simulations [12][13][14][15][16][17][18]. Currently, various methods are used to assess fractures, such as the dual lateral resistivity difference method, dipole shear wave anisotropy method, borehole wave modes' attenuation method, Stoneley wave reflection coefficient method, and others.…”

“…To improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the reception signals, we adopted an intellectualized active reception transducer, and thereafter, selected 32 reception transducers of obvious consistency. Based on the above technologies, a new acoustic LWD tool was designed and tested [ 19 ].…”

“…The whole detector was connected to the Eilog system during the field testing, and ideal results were obtained [23]. The China University of Petroleum developed a new generation of seismoelectric logging detectors, which are currently undergoing laboratory and field tests [24][25][26]. Guan et al proposed a method to invert permeability from seismoelectric logs in fluid-saturated porous formations, which has a guiding effect on actual data processing [27,28].…”
