Intelligent Algorithm for Enhancing MPEG-DASH QoE in eMBMS

Abstract: Multimedia streaming is the most demanding and bandwidth hungry application in today's world of Internet. MPEG-DASH as a video technology standard is designed for live or on-demand streams in Internet to deliver better quality content with the fewest dropouts and least possible buffering. Hybrid architecture of DASH and eMBMS have attracted a great attention from the telecommunication industry and multimedia services. It is employed in response to the immense demand of multimedia traffic. However, handover and… Show more

“…The future recommendation would be planning to perform the proposed method on a more sophisticated system such as a mobile video streaming service according to [20] and investigate using deep learning model to train to obtain data of the parameters to evaluate QoE and using different video codecs and services as mentioned in [21,22,24,25], this approach would enhance QoE of mobility devices such as smart devices, mobiles, and tablets.…”

“…Note that the value of ordinal utility itself has no physical meaning; we just use it to quantify preference; the forms of utility function are not unique. Besides, without considering the preference similarity, the proposed scheme can also be used for users in the same MBMS service area [25]. ( ) ∈Δ = ( ) ∈Δ = , ∈ N \ Δ} for each multicast group Δ ∈ N. There are only two cases for the players, and the condition ( ) ∈Δ = ( ) ∈Δ denotes that user chooses to invite user to join a multicast group Δ (a coalition).…”

“…However, these schemes still need to independently send authentication request messages to the network. Secure and efficient handover authentication should possess the following functional attributes [16]: subscription validation, server authentication, key establishment, user anonymity and untraceability, conditional privacy preservation, provision of user revocation, attack resistance, periodic session key updating, low communication cost, and low computational complexity.…”
