Intelligent agent technology

Abstract: Purpose This paper aims to empirically investigate the influence of the intelligent agent technology (IAT) on hotels’ food procurement practices (FPPRs) and food procurement performance (FPP). The study also explores the influence of FPPR on FPP in hotels. Design/methodology/approach Data from a survey of managers at luxury hotels in Florida, which yielded an effective sample of 78, were subjected to partial least squares structural equation modeling analysis. Findings IAT usage has statistically significa… Show more

“…First, smart is associated with the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and smart technologies. In this regard, smart technologies are seen as efficient tools for managing destinations (Ivars-Baidal et al, 2017), attractions (Wang et al, 2016), events (Silva-Pedroza et al, 2017) or hospitality businesses (Alsetoohy and Ayoun, 2018;Buhalis and Leung, 2018). The entire process of collecting, analyzing, and distributing information and the use of big data, interconnected devices, and artificial intelligence tools lies in the heart of smart management practices (Ji et al, 2016;Sun et al, 2016).…”

“…The PLS is considered a well-established technique for estimating path coefficients in structural models [83]. For instance, PLS provides very robust model estimations with data that have normal as well as extremely non-normal distributional properties which enforce less restrictive assumptions about data normality [84].…”
