Biodiversitas 24: 4738-4746. The occurrence of weeds in agriculture directly impacts crop productivity, and the reliance on synthetic herbicides to solve the problem has raised concerns about the increasing environmental damage. Using bioherbicides to control weeds is necessary to reduce the negative impact of synthetic herbicides. Bioactive compounds derived from plants can be utilized to develop eco-friendly herbicides. Praxelis clematidea extract was reported to exhibit allelopathic activity against weeds. This study aims to evaluate the potential of P. clematidea extract as a bioherbicide to control seed germination and seedling growth of Asystasia gangetica weed. P. clematidea water extract was screened for its chemical compounds and determined its phytotoxic effects on Asystasia gangetica. The results showed that P. clematidea water extract contained phenolics, alkaloids, and terpenoids. P. clematidea extract suppressed seed germination, the time needed for seed germination, sprout length, number of leaves, biomass, and total chlorophyll contents. LC50values for the seed germination, seedling, root, and shoot growth were calculated at 9%, 25%, 11%,and 37% (v/v), respectively. Thus, P. clematidea could be used as an A. gangetica weed biocontrol agent and might be integrated into weed management programs.

The increasing prevalence of immersive technologies and blockchain platforms in modern commerce has ignited animated debates among intellectual property law scholars on the use of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) in the sale of crypto‐assets or virtual property. Despite the rapidly growing interest in the implications of NFTs for copyright law, particularly in the realm of digital art, relatively little attention has been given to the question of whether the rights of copyright stakeholders (as opposed to the works in which such rights subsist) are capable of tokenisation as NFTs or of being transferred via NFT‐tethered transactions in blockchain environments. This article highlights the dangers of treating copyright as capable of being tokenised or transferred as NFTs on blockchain platforms, and argues that such an approach poses fundamental risks to the ‘nemo dat’ principle in property law. The article further proposes that the right of communication in copyright law should be extended to include the minting of NFTs in relation to digital files containing creative expression, to protect the interests of digital artists from the exploits of rogue crypto‐traders on blockchain platforms.

Many jurisdictions have implemented data protective legislations. However, these rules of law accentuate personal data protection and it seems that the safeguard of other valuable data is neglected. Premised on the assumption that other data should be under the equal supervision like personal data, this essay deploys a holistic legal approach to briefly construct a data protective regime that incorporates other traditionally protected data including IP-protected data and confidential data in the specific data legislation for policymakers to regulate data comprehensively and effectively However, is this new regime practically feasible? The feasibility analysis demonstrates that the data within the protection of intellectual property (IP) law and confidential law are constrained to a small amount and the extant legislations have already been adequate to safeguard these data. The sufficiency analysis shows that the new regime is inadequate to safeguard various data and many data are out of its regulation. This essay firstly presents a simple holistic data protective regime that illustrates from the scope, process and enforcement regime aspects. The feasibility analysis is followed from necessity and sufficiency perspectives.
