Integration of Bim, Web Maps and Iot for Supporting Comfort Analysis

Abstract: ABSTRACT:The use of the Internet is expanding and the technological capabilities of electronic devices are evolving. Today, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions can be developed that were never even imaginable before. In this paper, a case study is presented on the joint use of Building Information Model (BIM), Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. It is a part of an ongoing study that intends to overcome some problems about the management of complex facilities. In the… Show more

“…Source: (Al-Fuqaha et al, 2015) Existing studies have adopted BIM and IoT devices in many aspects such as energy management, construction monitoring, health and safety management, and building management. However, BIM and IoT integration research is still in nascent stages where most studies are theoretically and conceptually proposed (Dave et al 2018;Gunduz et al, 2017).…”

“…Based on a network that connects physical objects to the Internet (Madakan, Ramaswamy, & Tripathi, 2015), IoT is also considered a key component of the smart cities concept, since it converges "physical, digital and human systems in the built environment to deliver a sustainable, prosperous and inclusive future for its citizens" (BSI, 2014, p. 3). IoT enables a real-time understanding of every aspect and component of a building and its operation, increasing the accuracy and availability of information (Gunduz, Isikdag, & Basaraner, 2017;Pishdad-Bozorgi, 2017;Wong, Ge, & He, 2018). Moreover, IoT supports constructors and managers to overcome one of BIM limitations, i.e.…”
