People are becoming less comfortable in content as a form of data throughout this period of growing scientific and technological advancements. Oil painting also was challenged in unprecedented ways by modern image processing techniques as person’s primary source of data, and it had a tremendous effect on the domain of artistic creativity. Therefore, we present an upgraded convolutional neural network (U-CNN) for the enhancement of style rendering model addressing the aforementioned challenges. Initially, the datasets are gathered that are denoised and enhanced in the preprocessing stage to eliminate noise and improve the quality of the data. Gabor filter bank (GFB) is employed in the feature extraction stage to extract several features from the normalized data. For the application of style rendering model, the proposed approach is utilized. Moreover, through applying the 3DS MAX model, the three-dimensional (3-D) oil painting is generated. Finally, the performance of the proposed approach is examined and compared with other existing approaches to obtain the proposed approach with the greatest effectiveness. The findings are depicted in chart form by employing the origin tool.

Emergent technologies are driving forces in the development of innovative art media that progress the field of modern art. Recently, artists have capitalized on the versatility of a new technology to create, restore, and modify art: additive manufacturing or three-dimensional (3D) printing. Additively manufactured art relies heavily on plastic-based materials, which typically require high heat to induce melting for workability. The necessity for heat limits plastic media to dedicated 3D printers. In contrast, biologically derived polymers such as polysaccharides used to create “bioinks” often do not require heating the material for workability, broadening the types of techniques available for printing. Here, we detail the formulation of a bioink consisting of mica pigments suspended in alginate as a new, vibrant art medium for 2D and 3D compositions. The properties that make alginate an ideal colorant binder are detailed: low cost with wide availability, nontoxicity and biocompatibility, minimal color, and an array of attractive physicochemical properties that offer workability and processing into 2D and 3D structures. Further, the chemical composition, morphology, and dispersibility of an array of mica pigment additives are characterized in detail as they pertain to the quality of an art medium. Alginate-based media with eight mica colors were formulated, where mica addition resulted in vibrantly colored inks with moderate hiding power and coverage of substrates necessary for 2D printing with thin horizontal and vertical lines. The utility of the media is demonstrated via the generation of 2D and 3D vibrant structures.

3D digitization of cultural heritage has long been used to preserve information about cultural heritage (CH) objects such as architecture, art, and artifacts. 3D dissemination of CH objects through technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, and 3D printing have impacted the fields of art history and cultural heritage and have become more common. Yet, studies that go beyond the technical aspects of 3D technology and treat such topics as their significance for restoration, conservation, engagement, education, research, and ethics hardly exist. The aim of this paper is twofold: on the one hand, it aims to get a better understanding of the applicability of each technology for different purposes (education, research, conservation/restoration, and museum presentation), and, on the other hand, it focuses on the perception of these technologies. This research was carried out by combining a literature review with quantitative and qualitative analyses of the data acquired through (1) a questionnaire of eleven questions and (2) a workshop with a group of specialists and non-specialists who were asked to brainstorm about the different uses of the 3D technologies and their applicability to their areas of work and research. Based on the analysis of these quantitative and qualitative data, we provide some criteria for using 3D digitized and printed reproductions to enhance cultural experiences. The results demonstrate the importance of carefully designing 3D interactions in the personal and cultural contexts of end-users and cultural institutions in order to create authentic cultural experiences.
