The overall purpose of the work in progress reported here is to extend and validate system dynamics technologies for lheir use in managing the complexities and risks of large-scale, courseware development projects. Courseware consists of a variety of computer-based instructional materials used for the purpose of creating effective learning environments. While computer costs are dropping, new interactive technologies are appearing with a frequency that makes it quite difficult to plan and produce optimally effective (in terms of learning) and efficient (in terms of costs) computer-based instructional materials.
