Integrating Extended Fourier Amplitude Sensitivity Test and Set Pair Analysis for Sustainable Development Evaluation from the View of Uncertainty Analysis

Abstract: It is of importance but great difficulty to objectively and quantitatively evaluate the sustainable development level, especially in the weight determination process and uncertainty evaluation. The traditional weight determination methods hardly reflect the coupling effect (interaction) among the indices. More importantly, conventional evaluation methods seldom consider the uncertainties of the indices in the index system. Thus, it is indispensable to apply a more comprehensive approach to solve these defects.… Show more

“…It has multiple applications such as in physics, number theory, statistics and probability, optics, oceanography, image processing and cryptography to name a few. Fourier analysis has been applied in respect to environmental and sustainability-based case studies such as in Pata (2021), Wagenseil and Samimi (2006), Luan et al (2018), Logan et al (2010) and Bush et al (2017), in order to determine cyclic processes. However, these and others have been case-specific to a defined area, issue, topic and/or environmental system, for example, agricultural sustainable development, weather/climate, tropics etc.…”

“…In this study, a quantitative evaluation system was used, and it has four dimensions, i.e. agricultural economic development level, agricultural productive factors development level, agricultural social development level and agricultural resources and environment development level (Luan et al, 2018). Another framework has been develped for appraising the sustainability in the manufacturing of the Ayurveda pharmaceutical industry.…”

“…In previous studies, sustainability was evaluated for many research areas, i.e. education (Ofei-Manu and Didham, 2018) (Mabila et al, 2017), technology (Coskun-Setirek and Tanrikulu, 2019), agriculture (Luan et al, 2018), production (Venugopal and Saleeshya, 2019), information and communication technology (ICT) (Ng and Nicholas, 2013;Ziemba, 2017), etc. However, in these studies, researchers mostly use quantitative statistical techniques or qualitative approaches to measure sustainability.…”

“…Wang et al, analyzed the coordination ability in Yanchi County since it implemented the grazing prohibition policy by SPA, and the results indicate that Yanchi County was essentially in the second grade of the national sustainable development level [43]. Luan et al, employed SPA to handle the uncertain relations in the evaluation system and calculate sustainable agricultural development in the middle reach of the Heihe River [44].…”
