Integrated System Health Management-based Fuzzy On-board Condition Prediction for Manned Spacecraft Avionics

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to develop a prediction methodology for a condition assessment of on-board integrated health management systems in manned spacecraft avionics. The framework of this study is based on two main premises. The first is the need to examine the problems in the on-board prediction tools in space avionics integrated system health management, an area that has been rarely focused on. The second is the need to consider the failure correlation coefficients to enable accurate health predictions… Show more

“…Undoubtedly, the grey theory is further extended by other researchers, including grey prediction (Guo et al, 2017), grey decision (Javed et al, 2019), grey relational analysis (Soorya Prakash et al, 2020). Nowadays the grey theory has been successfully applied in an army of fields, such as mechanical vibration condition monitoring (Cempel, 2008), spacecraft failure prediction (Xu et al, 2016), and mechanical fatigue life (Sun et al, 2020).…”

“…Gul and Guneri [13] weighted the possibility and severity of parameters related to the hazards in an aluminum plate manufacturing plant by fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. Xu et al [14] proposed a fuzzy theory-grey model-support vector machine approach for condition assessment of on-board integrated health management systems in manned spacecraft avionics. Sun et al [15] integrated the merits of fuzzy set theory, fuzzy analytical hierarchical process, and modified weighted averaging combination and then proposed a novel evaluation model for transformer.…”

“…In addition, uncertainty and fuzziness in the health prediction and failure analysis process are increasingly emphasized in the failure analysis field. A fuzzy theory-gray model-support vector machine approach for an integrated health management system was proposed by Xu et al [24]. Fuzzy intelligence methodologies should have been applied extensively to improve the accuracy of root cause analysis for infant failure.…”
