Abstract:Using data from genome-wide molecular markers, genomic selection procedures have proved useful for estimating breeding values and phenotypic prediction. The link between an individual genotype and phenotype has been modelled using a number of parametric methods to estimate individual breeding value. It has been observed that parametric methods perform satisfactorily only when the system under study has additive genetic architecture. To capture non-additive (dominance and epistasis) effects, nonparametric appro… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
