Integrated HIV testing, prevention, and treatment intervention for key populations in India: a cluster-randomised trial

Abstract: We require that researchers complete a concept sheet for their proposed analyses, to be reviewed and approved by the study investigators. The study investigators will consider overlap of the proposed project with active or planned analyses and the appropriateness of study data for the proposed analysis.

“…This figure falls significantly below the national HIV response target of 90% [37]. Integrating HIV services into the mainstream of health services is a strategy for improving the access of key populations to HIV prevention, treatment and care services [38,39]. Without correction of the stigmatising behaviour of health workers and other service-related barriers, utilisation of the services will continue to be sub-optimal, even if the services are made available.…”

“…This figure falls significantly behind the national HIV response target of 90% [37]. Integrating HIV services into the mainstay of health services has being highlighted as a strategy of improving the access of key populations to HIV prevention, treatment and care services [38,39]. Without adequately addressing the stigmatisation behaviour of health workers and other service-related barriers, utilisation of the services will be sub-optimal even if the services were made available.…”

“…Our integrated care center (ICC) model for people who inject drugs (PWID) in India was focused on integrating essential infectious disease and harm reduction services in venues tailored to the needs of PWID. 2 While the focus of the results described in the Journal of Hepatology 3 was on integration of HCV testing with existing HIV and harm reduction services, it is important to note that other services were offered at the ICCs including screening for tuberculosis and management of sexually transmitted infections.…”

“…1 In case of unexplained NAFLD, further investigations are required to determine the origin of the disease. 2 We have read with interest the research article published by Youssefian et al, (April 2019) in the Journal of Hepatology, reporting monoallelic ABHD5 mutations as a rare cause of autosomal dominant NAFLD. 3 Biallelic ABHD5 mutations are known to cause a rare autosomal recessive disease described as the Chanarin-Dorfman syndrome (CDS), a multisystemic neutral lipid storage disorder with ichthyosis, often presenting with associated liver disease, myopathy, hearing loss, eye abnormalities and or neurological problems.…”
