Integrated Effects of Vermicompost, Npk Fertilizers, Cadmium And Lead on the Growth, Yield and Mineral Nutrient Accumulation In Spinach (Spinacia Oleracea L.)

Abstract: An integrated fertilizer experiment was conducted on the spinach plant at the net house of Soil, Water and Environment department under University of Dhaka during the rabi season using pot culture. The intention of the study was to evaluate the integrated effect of vermicompost, NPK fertilizers, Cd and Pb on soil properties, spinach growth, yield and concentration of nutrients. The trial was carried out in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) followed by two replications, having twelve treatments, including co… Show more

“…"In the current analysis, the plots treated with 50% chemical fertilizers and 2.5 t ha -1 Vermicompost showed the significant results on growth of the plants compared to the plots treated with other treatments" [24]. In case of spinach, Syed, [25] found that vermicompost and NPK fertilizers significantly improved vegetative growth parameters.…”

“…The highest plant height (60 cm) was observed in the pot treated in T 5 , followed by 58 cm in T 8 treatment. Syed et al (2022) reported increased vegetative growth and yield attributes in spinach following the application of vermicompost in combination with inorganic fertilizers. Leaf number (17 plant -1 ) and leaf area (264 cm 2 ) in different treatments increased up to harvest and obtained their maximum in T 8 .…”

“…Using vermicompost and inorganic fertilizer significantly improved soil physico-chemical properties, mineral nutrients, and biological properties, increased cucumber yield, and improved fruit quality (18) . Syed et al (19) found that vermicompost significantly improved spinach growth performance and increased yield attributes. Hossain et al (20) reported that the overall best growth, yield, and nutrient accumulation in the height of chili were achieved in trichocompost 4 t ha -1 plus N23P10K25 kg ha -1 treatment.…”
