Integral Sliding Mode Fault-Tolerant Control for Uncertain Linear Systems Over Networks With Signals Quantization

Abstract: In this paper, a new robust fault-tolerant compensation control method for uncertain linear systems over networks is proposed, where only quantized signals are assumed to be available. This approach is based on the integral sliding mode (ISM) method where two kinds of integral sliding surfaces are constructed. One is the continuous-state-dependent surface with the aim of sliding mode stability analysis and the other is the quantization-state-dependent surface, which is used for ISM controller design. A scheme … Show more

“…Recently, sliding-mode control has been widely applied in practical engineering systems. [32][33][34][35] Sliding-mode control (also known as variable structure control) is an attractive approach for practical engineering systems because of its effectiveness and availability. There are two stages to illustrate the method: first, a sliding surface is designed with some appropriate performance criterion to control the system trajectories; second, a discontinuous control law is considered such that the system's states are driven to the surface and stay there.…”

“…At this situation, it is important to design robust fault-tolerant/reliable controller against actuator fault. In view of this advantage, the research of fault-tolerant control or fault-reliable control has been developed for several decades, and fruitful results have been reported [23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30]. To mention few representative works, in [31], the authors investigated H 1 fault-tolerant control problem for discrete-time piecewise linear time-delays systems with the assumption that actuator faults lie in a bounded interval.…”
