Insustentabilidade Dos Impérios Alimentares: Uma Opção Ou Uma Necessidade

Abstract

The pursuit of productive efficiency is sought out for many years in Brazilian agribusiness companies and entities. Recently, sustainability has incorporated the business strategies as a proposal for value creation and competitive advantage in the sector, involving more technology, studies and actions for sustainability, leaving the conceptual idea and entering in agrifood systems accustomed by natural resources abundant and by the absence of scarcity. This work aims to evaluate the viability of using rainwater in aviculture in Rio Grande do Sul / RS. Agrifood systems condition the farmer the need to drill underground wells, linking it as imperative when the establishment of the sheds. The paradox presented is that while some populations need, in some regions, intensive production models, conditioning the economic activity for drilling artesian wells to extract groundwater the produce export commodities. Through the analysis of the average rainfall of the northern region of RS, it was found a rainfall of 1,700 millimeters, a collect potential of 4,500 m³ / shed of rainwater that can be stored in tanks and used on the farm to supply the fowl run production.
