Insulin Secretion: Optical Nanosensors for Real‐Time Feedback on Insulin Secretion by β‐Cells (Small 30/2021)

Abstract: In article number 2101660, Gili Bisker and co‐workers use fluorescent single‐walled carbon nanotubes for the recognition and real‐time quantification of insulin, where binding of insulin onto the nanotube surface results in a modulation of the emitted fluorescence. The optical nanosensors are used to quantify insulin secreted by pancreatic β‐cells, thus providing a new tool for rapid evaluation of β‐cell function.
