Insulin secretion in patients with latent autoimmune diabetes (LADA): half way between type 1 and type 2 diabetes: action LADA 9

Abstract: BackgroundThe study of endogenous insulin secretion may provide relevant insight into the comparison of the natural history of adult onset latent autoimmune diabetes (LADA) with types 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus. The aim of this study was to compare the results of the C-peptide response to mixed-meal stimulation in LADA patients with different disease durations and subjects with type 2 and adult-onset type 1 diabetes.MethodsStimulated C-peptide secretion was assessed using the mixed-meal tolerance test in patien… Show more

“…In a country like Nepal, where diabetes imposes a huge financial burden on patients [34], and where diabetes management is challenged by poor health literacy [35] and patients’ limited knowledge of diabetes [18,36], the extent to which self-monitoring should be promoted and to what extent the benefits of self-monitoring may be achieved (and how) should be carefully considered. It is also important to have a realistic expectation of how self-monitoring practices might be implemented effectively.…”

“…NHL infiltration of posterior pituitary gland also causes loss of the posterior hyper-intensity on MRI. However, majority of cases also reported a heterogeneous mass infiltration of the adenohypophysis with parasellar extension (1, 2, 3, 4). This case presented increment in pituitary size that reduced after chemotherapy (Fig.…”

“…Type 1 diabetes is divided into two subtypes (classical type 1 diabetes and LADA) [14, 15]. The present study of histone methylation in type 1 diabetes patients focused on classical type 1 diabetes, rarely in LADA.…”
