Instrumentation for Sub‐ and Supercritical Fluid Chromatography

Abstract

This chapter describes an overview of the instrumentation in supercritical fluid chromatography ( SCF ) and its application in different fields of science and industry. The main components of an SCF instrument including mobile phase , pump, injector, column, restrictor, and detector are explained. Recent trends in the modification of these parts are also discussed. Finally, the application of SFC to separate a wide variety of materials, such as food constituents, drugs, biological samples, and natural products, is summarized.
