Instrument teachers’ practices, beliefs, and barriers regarding musical creativity: Exploring the creative process of interpretation

Abstract: Instrumental music teaching traditionally emphasizes the cognitive, motor, and motivational processes of score reproduction, often at the expense of creative musical activities, such as improvisation or composition.
