This study discusses the Applied Linguistics Aspects of Using Digital Media: Analysis of Women's Instagram Account Captions Based on Language Style. The researcher used Chaika's theory in 1982 about five styles of language in the form of formality; formal style, informal style, colloquial style, casual style and intimate style. Along with the development of the social media phenomenon which provides unlimited aspects for young people, especially women. In this study, it aims to provide an overview of the style of language used by women when making a caption on Instagram. As of Mei 2023, there are several women accounts that have the highest number of followers, one of which was chosen by the researcher to be used as material for analysis to create texts with different language styles. The researcher chose five women accounts, namely Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and Taylor Swift. In this case, the researcher only took one post along with the caption from each account. This study uses descriptive qualitative research because it processes words by analyzing and describing issues related to social aspects of phenomena in social media. The result is five posts from Instagram captions were obtained according to the type and characteristics of the language style. Language experts classify language styles into several types, one of which is formal style, informal style, colloquial style, casual style, and intimate style. Writing is regarded as one of the most vital skills in the current digital era, as it is necessary for academic success, career advancement and interpersonal connections. However, ESL learners often encounter difficulties in acquiring them. Past studies revealed two predominant approaches to teach writing skills: product approach and process approach. Additionally, challenges like mother tongue interference, students' lack of vocabulary and motivation issues along with writing anxiety could hinder the implementation of effective instructions to teach writing skills. Therefore, this study intends to identify Malaysian teachers' perceptions on effective instructional practices and the challenges they faced when instructing writing skills among the upper primary school students. To gather data, a survey will be administered, with participants selection guided by purposive sampling. To analyse the collected data, the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) software V.27 will be employed which will later derive descriptive statistics, presented in tables that include percentages, means, and standard deviations. The findings of the paper would assist teachers in refining their instructional practices and selecting optimal approaches for enhancing their students' writing skills. Furthermore, the identified challenges would provide policymakers with insights into the resources required by teachers to effectively teach writing skills.

Educational context should take the benefits of innovative pedagogy and digital devices to go to the deeper content exploration, classroom management, engagement, and motivation of students in EFL teaching learning process. Moreover, it should be used to meet the students' need by reforming the old learning to the newest one. In doing this, social media can be used as a learning tool to apply a digital content learning, mainly in EFL teaching learning process. Since instagram has become one of the most popular social media in Indonesia, it has chosen by many English teachers as a learning media in their teaching. This paper is intended to observe students' perception towards the use of instagram in EFL learning. The subjects are 90 XII grade students of SMAN 1 Jatiagung, South Lampung, Lampung Province. The data were gained using questionnaire. Then, it was analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. The results indicated that most students show a positive perception towards the use of instagram in their EFL learning. In doing this, students also face some obstacles in their learning process such as internet connection and internet speed. Thus, it is suggested to the teacher to also consider these facts in the future.
