Insight into the Contribution of Cerium Oxide to MnOx/CeO2 in Methanol Oxidation Reaction: Perspective From the Crystal Facet of CeO2

Abstract: In this study, cerium oxide with different exposed crystal facets was prepared and function as the support for MnO x /CeO 2 catalysts, whose catalytic performance were evaluated in the methanol oxidation reaction. The results showed that the difference in crystal facet exposure could remarkably affect the methanol oxidation performance of the MnO x /CeO 2 catalysts, where the (110) facet exposure is more beneficial to the catalytic performance. A series of characterizations revealed that the best performance o… Show more

“…Subsequently, the DOM rapidly converted into formate species (HCOO‐) followed by decomposition into adsorbed CO and H 2 O. Finally, the adsorbed CO oxidized to CO 2 by active oxygen species or O 2 gas 49–51 . The exhibit excellent catalytic performance to HCHO of the ZnO/N/C nanocomposites is mainly attributed to two reasons.…”

“…Finally, the adsorbed CO oxidized to CO 2 by active oxygen species or O 2 gas. [49][50][51] The exhibit excellent catalytic performance to HCHO of the ZnO/N/C nanocomposites is mainly attributed to two reasons. First, the nanocomposites have a large specific surface area and unique porous structure, and it is easy to achieve the adsorption of HCHO.…”
