Insight into the antibacterial resistance of graphdiyne functionalized by silver nanoparticles

Abstract: Objectives: Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) tend to aggregate spontaneously due to larger surface-to-volume ratio, which causes decreased antibacterial activity and even enhanced antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Here, we aim to improve the stability of AgNPs by employing a growth anchor graphdiyne (GDY) to overcome these shortcomings.Materials and Methods: Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli were selected to represent gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, respectively. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)… Show more

“…MNU is an effective nitroso compound for gastric carcinogenemouse model construction. [36][37][38][39][40][41] Nitroso compounds promote the occurrence of malignant tumours by inducing DNA damage and activating downstream pathways that regulate cancer onset and development. [42][43][44] Innovatively, we explored the role of m6A modification in GC development.…”

“…In recent years, the rise of nanotechnology has facilitated the development of nanodrug delivery systems (NDDS). NDDS provides a promising method for controlled and targeted drug delivery due to its good biocompatibility, 17 low side effects, 18 targeting, 19 and controlled release, 20 and is one of the prospective strategies for cancer therapy. 21 , 22 , 23 NDDS include nanoparticles, liposomes, polymeric micelles, polymeric drug couplers, etc.…”

“…4,5 In parallel, bacteria develop resistance by various mechanisms, such as preventing small-molecule drugs from penetrating cell walls, reorganizing the genetic coding to diminish drug sensitivity, or releasing defensive enzymes to degrade medications. [6][7][8] Without available treatment, we shall revert to the pre-antibiotic age, where MRB infections become unmanageable.…”
