Craniomaxillofacial trauma (CMFT) is a type of injury that affects the face, neck, and scalp, and includes facial bone fractures, dentoalveolar trauma, and soft tissue injuries. Work, traffic accidents, sports, and daily activities commonly cause these injuries. However, they are widespread in war‐torn countries where armed conflict leads to a high incidence of CMFT. The lack of resources, health care infrastructure, and surgical personnel in these areas result in subpar treatment and poor patient outcomes, contributing to the high mortality and morbidity rates among war victims. The importance of a multidisciplinary approach to CMFT management cannot be overstated, but current obstacles, such as a lack of access to proper medical care and rehabilitation services, impede the development of effective treatments. CMFT treatment is complex and prohibitively expensive for war‐torn nations to afford, necessitating international intervention to provide life‐saving surgical procedures for those suffering from CMFT in conflict zones. Despite efforts to improve CMFT treatments in war‐torn countries, more must be done to improve treatment outcomes. Data collection and research must also be improved in order to develop effective evidence‐based treatment methods.

Humanitarian crises caused by armed conflict are constantly growing and present a serious global problem for health systems. The war in Ukraine produced about 4.8 million Ukrainians seeking temporary protection abroad, and about 10 million received the status of an internally displaced person. The situation in Ukraine has been described as potentially the largest migration crisis in Europe in the last century. As humanitarian crises become widespread and prolonged, chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus (DM) are becoming increasingly important. Food security, limited access to medical facilities and medicines, and economic difficulties are just some of the many difficulties faced by patients with DM in armed conflict. The experience of the functioning of the health care system in conditions of armed conflict, on the example of other countries, shows that in the short term, the priority should be to ensure the continuity of insulin therapy and access to basic oral sugar-lowering agents and educational programs for patients on self-control of the disease with an emphasis on recognizing the symptoms of hypoglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, and dehydration; in the long term — ensuring access to high-quality medical care and medicines, training of local and international providers of medical services for the diagnosis and treatment of DM and its acute complications and the development of clinical guidance on the management of patients in these conditions. Humanitarian crises in the world have become more protracted, and therefore health workers must go beyond direct basic primary care and address the long-term health consequences of those affected. Further research is needed to be aimed at improving the quality of medical care for patients with DM in the context of the humanitarian crisis caused by the armed conflict, there is a need to develop simplified, cost-effective models of monitoring the condition of patients, the quality of medical care and the availability of medicines to patients in this category.

Background. Hypertensive heart disease (HD) is a chronic abnormality that affects various systems of the body and is especially unfavorable for women of reproductive age. The purpose of the study was to develop a comprehensive program of physical rehabilitation for young women suffering with stage I hypertensive heart disease at the outpatient stage of rehabilitation and evaluate its effectiveness. Materials and methods. 42 young women with a diagnosis of HD were randomly divided into two groups: one performing traditional physical rehabilitation (control group) and the other following a method based on the Pilates system. Questionnaire, Martinet-Kushelevsky test, modified Romberg test, and Deshin test were performed. Results. Questionnaire and examination for determination of therapeutic tasks in the application of physical rehabilitation show improvement due to the use of the suggested methodology. Indicators of Martinet-Kushelevsky test improved from 2.46 points to 5.48 points (p<0.01) which is better (p<0.05) than in the case of the traditional methodology where they changed from 2.44 to 4.61 (p<0.01). Kotov-Deshin test results show improvement in both groups evenly but the test results of the women of the main group improved from “unsatisfactory” to “good”, and those of the women of the control group improved from “unsatisfactory” to “satisfactory” with significantly better results in the main group (p<0.05). Distribution of the Romberg test results show improvement of vestibular stability in all participants of the main group. Conclusions. The proposed program of complex physical rehabilitation of patients with stage I hypertensive heart disease using the Pilates method proved to be effective. Due to this program, there was a significant decrease in heart rate, systolic and diastolic pressure, an improvement in the response of the cardiovascular system to the Martinet-Kushelevsky functional test as well as in the state of the respiratory and nervous systems, as evidenced primarily by the indicators of hypoxic tests, spirometry, clino- and orthostatic tests, with the Romberg and Deshin methods.
