Inside Cover Picture: Rapid Trifluoromethylation and Perfluoroalkylation of Five‐Membered Heterocycles by Photoredox Catalysis in Continuous Flow (ChemSusChem 6/2014)

Abstract

The Inside Cover picture shows how trifluoromethylated and perfluoroalkylated heterocycles can be prepared by continuous‐flow photoredox catalysis utilizing [Ru(bpy)3] and blue light irradiation. Spectacular accelerations are observed in microreactors because of the homogeneous irradiation of the reaction sample and the optimal gas‐liquid mass transfer.
