Insertion of Group II Intron-Based Ribozyme Switches into Homing Endonuclease Genes

Abstract: Fungal mitochondrial genomes act as "reservoirs" for homing endonucleases. These enzymes with their DNA site-specific cleavage activities are attractive tools for genome editing, targeted mutagenesis and gene therapy applications.
