Insecticide Resistance, Resistance Mechanisms, and Phylogeny of Three Myzus persicae Populations in Cabbage from Three Agroclimatic Zones of Sri Lanka

Abstract: The aphid, Myzus persicae is an important sucking pest and a virus vector in many crops. The management of M. persicae is mainly through synthetic pesticides. The development of resistance against common pesticides has resulted in control failures of M. persicae. The objective of this study was to examine the status of pesticide resistance and the genetic structure of M. persicae

“…Deltamethrin led to a LC 50 value of 3.97 mg/L for M. mumecola , corresponding to the values reported for M. persicae, which range from 1.34 to 381 mg/L [ 16 , 24 ]. Etofenprox showed a LC 50 value of 0.70 mg/L, while values reported for M. persicae were much lower and ranged between 0.026 to 0.089 mg/L [ 25 ]. Flupyradifurone showed a LC 50 value of 0.08 mg/L for M. mumecola , while reports of the LC 50 value for M. persicae ranged from 0.008 to 0.64 mg/L [ 23 , 26 ].…”
