“…The Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica (INRiM) has developed and is maintaining a metrological reference for electrolytic conductivity measurements in the range from 50 μS cm −1 to 2 S m −1 with an associated relative uncertainty better than 0.7% at a temperature of 25 • C. The measurement system has also been verified in several international comparisons [3][4][5]. The conductivity values obtained with the Jones-type primary cell [6,7] developed at INRiM are traceable to the SI units because conductivity measurements are based on length and resistance measurements carried out with calibrated instruments.…”

“…For that purpose, availability of gaseous reference materials (RMs) is an essential requirement. In this framework, INRiM has a consolidated experience in the preparation of reference gas mixtures of CO 2 in air at atmospheric amount-of-substance fraction (amount fraction in the following) by gravimetry as candidate Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) [3][4][5]. The in-house prepared reference gas mixtures were used to participate in international key comparisons organised under the umbrella of the Consultative Committee for Amount of Substance: Metrology in Chemistry and Biology (CCQM) of the International Committee for Weights and Measures (CIPM) [6,7].…”

“…Only a small part of CRMs of a soil matrix available in this base, Chinese production mainly, has the certified value of the nitrogen mass fraction [7]. Nitrogen is not on the list of the usually analyzed elements of The National Institute of Metrological Research (INRiM) in Italy as well [8].…”
