“…The antibacterial effects of chlorhexidine and cetylpyridinium chloride on planktonic bacteria have been verified in several previous studies Sreenivasan et al, 2013, Koljalg et al, 2002, Kitagawa et al, 2016, Andre et al, 2011, Evans et al, 2015. Koljalg et al Koljalg et al, 2002 studied the susceptibility of various bacterial isolates to chlorhexidine, and reported that Gram-positive bacteria were more susceptible than Gram-negative bacteria.…”

“…of cetylpyridinium chloride compared with chlorhexidine Sreenivasan et al, 2013, Andre et al, 2011, Evans et al, 2015 . The MIC results of our experiment showed similar values as those observed by previous studies for oral streptococci.…”

“…In addition to MGS, other microorganisms such as S. sanguinis, S. oralis and S. gordonii, can also be found in the dental biofilm. 27 Cariogenic associations were observed when multispecies biofilms were formed with Bifidobacterium sp. and S. mutans or S. sobrinus, showing that such combinations of microorganisms had a much stronger enamel demineralizing capacity than monospecies biofilms.…”
