Inhibitive Assesment of Stearamide as a Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in HCl Solution

Abstract: In this study effect of Stearamide as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in hydrochloric acid media was investigated employing various electrochemical techniques include potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and liner polarization resistance (LPR). In view of the fact that Stearamide is an insoluble compound in water, its inhibitive effect was examined by dissolving 10000ppm of it into an organic solvent followed by immersing of steel surface into the solution for 7, 15, … Show more

“…Some factors related to the characteristics of metals include chemical composition, microstructure, residual stress, chemical homogeneity, and physical of the metal surface [5]. Environmental factors, especially the water environment, include hydrogen ion activity (pH) and dissolved oxygen in solution, flow rate, total dissolved solids, and solution temperature [6][7][8][9].…”
